High Peak Heritage Crafts has been created as a platform for the community of Whaley Bridge and the surrounding High Peak Area.
We exist to bring heritage and family craft activities to our community whilst restoring and preserving the heritage of our treasured Transshipment Warehouse in the Canal Basin.
We offer a wide range of courses and workshops in traditional crafts to the local community and beyond.
A Range of Crafts
We offer classes in the following crafts:
Pottery, Fused Glass, Stained Glass, Woodworking, Signwriting, Basket-making, Willow Arts, Comicbook/Manga Art, Ornament Making, Lino Printing

Our ‘Prosecco & Pottery’ class was a great hit.
We launched High Peak Heritage Crafts to give everyone in our community the opportunity to learn a new skill & spend time with others.
When we did so, in November 2020, we had great plans and aspirations. We were determined to continue despite and indeed because of Covid. Unfortunately a mix of national restrictions and an understandable hesitancy for people to mix has meant that a number of our crafters needed to find work in other professions with a guaranteed income. This double whammy forced us to curtail what we had planned to offer.
But we are still here and even more steadfast in our plan to bring a whole range of experiences to the Transhipment Warehouse. We would love to hear from more tutors and craftsmen who need a base to bring their knowledge and skills to Whaley Bridge – just use our contact form below.
What about the Kids? YES – Most of our courses are suitable for families and children.
